City of Light is one of the few Afro-Indigenous owned art galleries and cultural institutions in Seattle, WA.

We are moving forward and expanding the conversation on representation, economic development, and empowerment within our artist community.

Thanks to your support we have achieved great milestones over the past year and we have just begun as a community to expand on this vision.

By making a one-time or monthly financial contribution to our campaign, you will help us be able to…

1) Secure a new larger venue for 2023 with better access to parking and public transportation.

2) Increase the support that we are able to give to the artists in our community.

Since our opening in June 2021, we have worked to educate, mentor, offer career development resources, and provide exhibition space for multiple local, national, and international artists.

These artists include Ben Yisrael, Keli Lucas, Paul Cole, Bakeneko, Rya Wu, Afro SPK, AshaAung Helmstetter, Cavier Coleman and more.

We support artists by

(1) pricing / marketing / selling their works of art

(2) buying their works of art / connecting them with art advisors and art collectors

(3) providing exhibition space / curating their exhibitions

(4) connecting them with art advisors, curators, and other arts organizations

(5) teaching them marketing/branding/pr skills

(6) securing media coverage for them

(7) providing residencies for out of town artists

(8) securing residencies for local artists in other states/counties

(9) advising on sponsorship & partnership development.
