2024 Bridge to Peace Grant
City of Light Gallery proudly announces the launch of our inaugural Bridge to Peace Grant.
Inspired by the ethos of the Nobel Peace Prize, we are inviting artists from around the globe to participate in a celebration of empathy, diversity, and peace through their creative works. As an art gallery & cultural organization based in Seattle, we are committed to curating exhibitions that amplify voices from the Afro/Indigenous diaspora while also embracing artists from all backgrounds who possess a compelling message or mission communicated through their artwork.
In a world often plagued by discord and division, we believe in the transformative power of art to build bridges between communities, fostering empathy and understanding. The Bridge to Peace Grant seeks to recognize and support artists who share in this commitment.
Starting March 2024, we invite submissions from artists who exemplify dedication to these values. Our 3 primary categories for submission are: Visual Artists, Writers, and Filmmakers. With two rounds of selection culminating in the final decisions in September 2024, our esteemed jury comprising Seattle-based curators, gallerists, and arts professionals will carefully evaluate each entry, seeking out those submissions that resonate most profoundly with the theme of peace-building through art and storytelling.
As our world grapples with polarizing political and social landscapes, it is more crucial than ever to uplift artists who inspire dialogue and community-building through their creations. We envision the Bridge to Peace Grant not only as an acknowledgment of artistic excellence but also as a catalyst for meaningful conversations and connections that transcend borders and cultures.
Join us in this journey to promote unity and understanding through the universal language of art. Together, let us forge a path towards a brighter, more inclusive future, where creativity serves to illuminate the path towards the bridge to peace.
We are inviting organizations, companies, and individuals to join us in sponsoring or supporting this initiative. Your contributions will enable us to provide a substantial grant and potentially award it to multiple deserving candidates.
